The Devon County Congress 2025

This year, the Devon County Congress is once again taking place at the TLH Toorak Hotel in Torquay.

The Devon Bridge Association invite you to the annual Devon County Congress to be held at the TLH Toorak Hotel, Chestnut Avenue, Torquay, TQ2 5JS on the weekend of Friday 11th - Sunday 13th April 2025.

The weekend includes a ten-match Green-pointed Swiss Pairs competition on the Friday and Saturday, and a seven-match Green-pointed Swiss Teams competition on the Sunday. The Saturday programme starts at 1pm to allow players to enjoy the attractions of Torquay in the morning.

The Hotel

The Bridge Programme 2025

The programme is shown below. Timings of breaks and the end of play are approximate. The organisers reserve the right to make any necessary changes to the programme as a result of unforeseen circumstances.

Green-pointed Swiss Teams for the Torquay Congress Trophy: Seven 7-board Matches
Sunday 10.30 to 11am Welcome with refreshments available

Session 1: Matches 1 - 3

  1.45pm to 2.30pm Break for lunch.
Pre-ordered sandwich & muffin platter available
(£31 per team pre-paid with bridge entry)
  2.30pm to 6.30pm

Session 2: Matches 4 - 7
Break for prize giving with tea/coffee after Match 5 (included) at approximately 4.15pm

Host & Tournament Director

Jeremy Child will be the MC for the weekend, and Colin Simcox will be the Tournament Director.

Prices

Full Congress £60 per player
Pairs only £40 per player
Teams only £30 per player

Concessions

The following players are eligible for a 50% discount on Bridge entry fees.

  • Registered youth players, defined as any player aged 25 or under on the 31st December 2025 provided their date of birth is registered with the EBU
  •  Newcomers to the Congress, defined as any player who has not attended the Devon County Congress in the last ten years
