Devon Congress

The major Devon Bridge Congress. An open Congress held annually in Torquay.

The congress is usually held in early April, it was cancelled in 2020 and took place on RealBridge in 2021 due to Covid-19.

Devon County Congress 2022

No decision has yet been made about the date of the 2022 congress or whether it will be on RealBridge (likely) or face to face.

This spring congress usually features a ten match green pointed Swiss Pairs on Friday and Saturday followed by a seven-match green pointed Swiss Teams on Sunday. The programme on Saturday has no play in the morning allowing players to enjoy the attractions in Torquay.

If on RealBridge, there are 6 or 7 matches of Swiss Pairs on the Saturday and 6 or 7 matches of Swiss Teams on the Sunday.

How to Enter

Entries will probably open in March 2022.

The Usual F2F Programme

(Online Swiss pairs and Swiss Teams start at 11am and have a 45-60 minute break).

Friday 7.30pm to 10.30pm Swiss Pairs (3 x 7-board matches)
Saturday 1pm to 5.15pm Swiss Pairs (4 x 7-board matches)
Tea break (no charge) after two rounds
  7.30pm to 10.30pm Swiss Pairs (3 x 7-board matches)
Sunday 11am to 2.30pm Swiss Teams (4 x 7-board matches)
  2.30pm to 3.30pm Break with tea/coffee (no charge).
Pre-ordered sandwich & muffin platter
(£20 per team pre-paid with bridge entry).
  3.30pm to 6.30pm Swiss Teams (3 x 7-board matches)
